(The sun was so bright it's like the wires weren't even there.
There's an allegory there, I'm sure of it.)
I keep stumbling across all of these good resources on leading musical worship, so hear ya go!
- 8 Ways to Pray in Preparing to Lead Worship - From the wonderful new Doxology & Theology.
- An Open Letter to Praise Bands - From Fors Clavigera. Yeah, that letter. I stumbled across it on my Twitter feed, read it and was like yeah, almost-boringly-true, I agree, moving on. But apparently it turned into kind of a big deal. Big enough that he wrote a follow-up: Postscript to An Open Letter to Praise Bands. Love this tidbit from the latter: "Worship is not only expressive, it is also formative."
- UPDATED: True Worship Music is Gospel Music--Even if It Isn't Gospel Music - from My Song in the Night. Linking Colossians 3:16 and intentionality to this expressive, formative thing we call worship.
- And now, a couple of short and sweet videos: James MacDonald on Songs They Don't Sing at His Church, and Bob Kauflin on Ineffective Music (that one's kind of funny)
