Thankfully I did not encouter the coral, especially considering the stories I keep hearing about crazy painful cartilage-eating coral bacterial infections people are contracting here.
OK, I learned so many things this week. A few about photography, a few not. I think that the thing that is most relevant to this photograph is that it is really, really hard to take good surfing pictures. Especially when there's this weird post-typhoon moist dust in the air. So I settled for this one, of a guy who'd apparently had a close encounter with a bit of reef along the Sunabe Seawall.
Um yeah, I don't think I even took that on manual.
I learned that it is also really, really hard to take pictures of kids in dark rooms with fluorescent lights and a camera that only goes to ISO 1600. I was reminded that trying to take pictures of groups of kids is like herding cats.
I learned that you should never rely on a first computer, or a second, or a third one, to work when the pressure's on. As a result, I learned that I need to check my attitude and ask God for more help.
I learned that Martha and the Bleeding Surfers would be a great band name. In my opinion.
I learned that Eva is starting to anticipate the Pater Familias's trips, and it is causing a lot of anguish in the house.
