I am not the most creative mom. And I'm especially really bad at coming up with things Eva will find interesting enough to do on her own while I tackle the pile'o'dishes or cook with hot oil or do other things that she really can't participate in. So when I have that triumphant moment I pretty much shout "Hallelujah!!" Of course, having a Triumphant Moment of Fun means that later there will be screaming when the fun is over. But we're going to ignore that for now. I can't go in the ocean or the pool, so we don't have a lot of water adventures. Eva loves the slip'n'slide...if you drag her down it again and again. We don't have a baby pool. So I'll call it divine inspiration that I came up with this:
Eva seemed a little flustered at first by the whole thing. She kept walking up to the tub, splashing her hands in it, then walking away, then walking back, splashing, walking away. Finally she looked at me, walked right up to get in my face (I was sitting on the ground) and proclaimed, "FUN!!!" Then she went and got in.
(all taken with my fitty mil)
But don't worry, I was not inside doing dishes while Eva was playing in a deep tub of water in the back yard. Obviously I did not do much of my own thing while she entertained herself thusly--just the mamarazzi thing. Well, I guess that's my own thing. And she didn't mind.
